This guy is crazy. I don’t even have to say that because after watching that video all sane people will agree with me. The scary part is that Barack Obama sat in this guy’s church for 20 years and listened to this guy’s lunatic rantings. Before the release of these videos Obama has even said that his church was a big part of him growing up. So the question is, have any of his pastor’s ideas rubbed off onto him? Either way, Obama needs to be given another look.

My counterpart, Omar, said that these people go through the most intense background checks in the world. While that may be true, no background check can go into Obama’s brain to see how he really feels about all of these things. Most background checks only have information about one’s criminal record and things they have done in public.

Omar also said that we must look at the issues. I agree 100%, but you must also make sure the person is sane. Anyone can say anything about an issue, which is why we should also make sure they truly feel that way. And anyway, Obama is so vague on the issues at certain times that even when “only looking at the issues”, he still isn’t a good choice. His platform is based on hope and change. That is not an issue. Everyone wants hope. Everyone wants to change the world for a better future. He isn’t alone in this. I am drifting away from the question, but I just had to throw that out there.

Bottom line is: Did Barack really take what this guy said to heart as he grew up?

Ok, ill be the first to admit the Reverends comments were disturbing. But lets not confuse him with Barack Obama here. While he was a big part of his upbringing, Obama has his own mind and his own ideas. Anybody who thinks Obama is unpatriotic needs to get their head examined. Do you think that just anybody can run for president? These people go through the most extensive background checks in the world.

Race, religion, and gender are the last three things we need to overcome in this country. Hell, if we could overcome those three things worldwide, we would have world peace. In today’s politics, they have no role. As a voter, I don’t care what somebody close to Obama said. I care about what Obama said. I care about the shrinking value of the dollar. I care about the economy. I care about having affordable health care. I care about the war in Iraq. These are the issues and that is what we need to get these campaigns back to.

The comments have created a media firestorm and many are questioning Obama’s loyalty and brings up the never ending issue of race. So the question for today is : How much should we look into the Reverand’s comments?

Well, this is the new layout. Each debate topic/question will be posted in the main post up above. In this section Patel will most his views on the topics and in the section to the left Omar will post his. Omar is on the left because he leans left on the political spectrum and Patel is vice-versa. We would love to hear your comments, which you can post in any of the three posts depending on what you have to say and what you are referring to. This is a new system we are trying out so we are definetely open to suggestions about it (or anything concerning the site really.)

Welcome to the relaunch of What’s Your Party. After a few months of blogging we decided that the blog had drifted away from the original intent of it being a debate blog. In light of that enlightenment we decided to relaunch the website (here is the old one) and here it is; well kind of. We are still working out the kinks, but it should be ready soon and the debates should start rolling. The layout has been edited so that there will be a topic post on the top (where this post is). Under that post will be two posts, the left being blogged by Omar and the right by Patel. They will share their opinions on the topics and debate with each other. There are bound to be disagreements because Omar leans left and is a Democrat, while Patel is a right-leaning anti-war conservative. We would love to see your input too, via the comments for each post.

As part of the 2.0 release a new feature has been added which will further visitor interaction in the community. How? You can create your own blog, hosted by us here at whatsyourparty. The best part is it is 100% free! We would love to see you guys create your own blogs and share your own ideas on politics. You may sign up by clicking the “get your own blog” button at the top. It is very simple to sign up and use and we hope all of you give it a shot.

Stay tuned as we have big things planned for this site and if have any suggestions we would be more than willing to hear them. You can contact us via comments.
